Sarpagandha(Rauvolfia serpentina) Sarpagandha   also known as  Rauvolfia   serpentina   used to treat high blood pressure.  Rauwolfia   serpentine(Sarpagandha) commonly known as   Indiansnakeroot  , black snakeroot or devil pepper belongs to  Apocynaceae   family and   is distributed in Himalayan regions  Uttaranchal, Uttar Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir and mainly used to  treats mental disorders. There is a variety which is a collection from the wild known as Rauvolfia which unfortunately is declining due to its importance in the medicinal uses..
